SPRAWL It all began as if nothing happened. SPRAWL is a kind of elastic mural. SPRAWL started as a project to kill time. detail It is a rambling miniature chronicle running along walls and around corners. SPRAWL is about reaching past the periphery of each passing moment. to follow the play of imagery as it populated the wall hitching each new painting onto the line already formed. as it anticipates the edge of the next. The narrative is laced with an unpunctuated sentence The simplest narrative is the before-and-after story something changed by something that makes an end of it. SPRAWL is a before-before-and-after-after story. There is no end to it and it may start anew. No plot is followed to build a storyline. but I merely strive to hang one more bead onto the string of growing expectation. a contest of contexts It is a game of solitaire gambling with mutability In this game, not to finish wins the prize. I began SPRAWL with the goal of making work to keep me occupied with the intervals in time when I have lost sight of the Big Picture and need to busy myself. It is a perennial work-in-progress Rather than start another large monumental project that would inevitably end stranding me at sea I decided I would keep a running account of my time with the idea of leaving as much room as possible to enlarge.
